This role is to be located in Chupei lab, Hsinchu County, Taiwan

JOB PURPOSE:

We are currently seeking a Senior Scientist for our Research and Development (R&D) department at Merck. In this role, you will lead research and development projects within the organization, focusing on innovative solutions and product development. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior scientists, and driving scientific excellence to achieve project goals.

YOUR ROLE

• Lead and manage R&D projects from concept through to commercialization, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives
• Design and conduct experiments to develop new products or improve existing ones, analyzing data and interpreting results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project execution.
• Mentor and train junior scientists and research staff, fostering a culture of scientific inquiry and innovation.
• Stay current with industry trends, scientific advancements, and regulatory requirements to inform research strategies.
• Prepare and present research findings, reports, and publications to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of intellectual property and patent applications as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations in all laboratory activities.

WHO YOU ARE

• Ph.D. in Chemistry, Material Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficient in formulations, surfactants, polymers, colloidal chemistry, and electrochemistry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Mandarin and English.
• al background in the semiconductor industry.
